A boat and the vast ocean

IMG 3531

It is, and always will be one of the greatest obsessions of my life, to prepare my boat "Santiago" and take her out to sea with a crew of my choice and catch the biggest meanest fish out there.

Unlike land, the sea is ever changing. Everything you witness in one moment can abruptly change, the fish can be biting one moment and the next, they are gone.

Some changes are drastic and some ever so subtle. If you don't make a study of the sea and do not respect it you can easily get killed out there.

What makes it so unique is the fact that every time you head to a known fishing spot or reef you travel on an unexplored "road" because its always different than the last time.

When you have a crew member yell out a sighting of some exotic fish species, you get as excited as the first time you saw one yourself.

Its a magical place and it takes you away from the day to day grind, making you almost untouchable for a few hours.

I love every moment of my expeditions to sea, and hope to be able to do it until the day I die :-)
